As diverse intrigues continue to unfold in regards to the Meru County Gubernatorial race, on Thursday, Meru County MP and Aspirant Governor Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza’s request for public land to complete her development projects received a boost from Njuri Ncheke elders.
The elders of Gimpine Njuri Ncheke in Nkomo, Tigania West-Sub-county, donated public land to Meru County MP Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza and said that they did not recognize Kiraitu Murungi, who claimed to be a crocodile in the water.
The elders promised to back Kawira Mwangaza’s gubernatorial bid in the August 9, 2022 general election.
“Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza will receive a parcel of land from the Gimpine Njuri Ncheke house in Nkomo, Tigania West Sub-county, Meru County so that she can complete her development projects. The donation follows her request for land from the Njuri Ncheke elders,” said Njuri Ncheke elder.
The elders thanked Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza for all she does for communities in Meru County.
“She established a rescue center to assist victims of gender-based violence and underprivileged children. When she last spoke to the Gimpine Njuri Ncheke elders, she promised to donate gumboots, and each of us has received a pair,” said a Njuri Ncheke elder.
Kiraitu Murungi fought and criticized Kawira Mwangaza, according to the leader of the Karongwe Njuri Ncheke house, Kiambi Mukiira, but she was named Kenya’s best-performing woman representative.
“I will rally the other Njuri Ncheke houses in Igembe, Tharaka, and elsewhere to support Kawira Mwangaza’s gubernatorial bid. Lastly, when KPLC delivered electric poles in preparation for power installation at the center, Kawira Mwangaza requested more land to complete her development projects. The center is situated on three acres of land,” said Kiambi.
Kiambi said that the Njuri Ncheke elders made a declaration that no other leader deserved to be given public land other than Kawira Mwangaza because she has a track record.
He said that the Njuri Ncheke elders spoke in unison, from Ntonyiri to Thuchi, in support of her gubernatorial bid.
According to a Njuri Ncheke elder, they were overjoyed when Kawira Mwangaza built the center next to the Njuri Ncheke house of Karongwe.
“She should be informed that we will support her gubernatorial bid. We were pleased to see Kenya Power staff installing electricity in the center because the community and the Njuri Ncheke house will benefit from the connection,” he said.
He said that the Njuri Ncheke house in Karongwe had over 200 members who came to listen to the cases of Meru County residents on a daily basis.
