Meru county assembly has lost one of its staff – the Deputy Sergeant at arms Mr. Thomas Kimathi Mucheke.
According to a statement by the County Assembly of Meru, Mr. Thomas Kimathi Mucheke passed on over the weekend.
“The entire County Assembly of Meru fraternity, led by Hon. Joseph Kaberia Arimba convey our condolences to the family, friends and relatives. We pray that the Almighty God grants his family strength, requisite fortitude and understanding to enable them withstand the monumental loss. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” read the statement.
On May 27 this year, Kiagu MCA Eunice Karegi passed on.
The MCA had been battling stage four cancer and died after returning from India for treatment.
Keregi was one of two women elected to Meru’s county assembly on a Maendeleo Chap Chap party ticket.
On July 27 this year, former Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti passed on at the age of 57.
According to reports, the former legislator passed on after being transported to a Nairobi hospital with diabetes-related issues.
Mwiti had been elected to Parliament on a Jubilee ticket in 2013 and served until 2017 when he stepped down from politics to pursue a career in business.
