Meru County MP Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza has said that despite having limited resources and capacity in her office, she was able to deliver.
Kawira said that Meru county would resemble Canaan after she is elected Governor as she will have access to abundant resources.
According to Kawira, she is not lazy, does not favor children, removes jiggers, cleans messed-up children, opens blind children’s eyes, and dresses naked children with limited resources.
“Kiraitu should leave politics, and we are not pleading with him to do so because we want to work for the residents of Meru County, create job opportunities for our youth, and bring water to our communities. Kiraitu said that this will be his final campaign and that he intends to conduct one of the most talked-about campaigns,” she said.
According to Kawira, Kiraitu intends to use the funds set aside for hospitals and roads for the first, second, third, and fourth years in his campaign. She said she was curious what he’d been up to all these years.
“I informed the residents of Meru town that Kiraitu has hidden a large sum of public money and is handing out handouts to the residents. When I visit the mashinani, I meet residents who face a variety of challenges, such as women’s groups in need of funding and young people who want to enroll in driving classes when am about to leave,” said Kawira.
She said that her office, on the other hand, had limited resources and capacity. According to Kawira, after exhausting public funds, she relies on church offerings and tithes to educate children.
“The challenges in Meru County are increasing, and we hear people claim that the Kiraitu is a crocodile in the water. My request to the residents is that we outs Kiraitu from his re-election in order to manage our own resources so that the challenges are eliminated,” Kawira said.
Kawira said that she wanted to make changes in Meru County because a lot of money is given to the county government but not to the people and public money ends up in the pockets of two to three men, who spend it on their wives.
“People are stealing money and using it to buy plots of land worth Sh100M in cash, and you wonder where these wealthy people have come from all of a sudden after only being employed for a short time. When I visit the Mashinani, I come across over 500 people who are facing various challenges and I am unsure what I should do,” she said.
According to Kawira, she’s counting down the days until the election, and she’ll be removing Kiraitu from his seat.
“When I am elected governor, I will ensure that all underprivileged students receive bursaries, and the vote of the residents will do the work. If we do not vote wisely, the residents will continue to face difficulties, which is why we want to put an end to it. Meru County residents elected me to the national government and Kiraitu Murungi to the county government,” said Kawira.
Kawira said that she spent the majority of her time in the villages working on development projects, whereas Kiraitu never left his office and spent the majority of his time in Nairobi.
“I have to juggle representing the residents in parliament and visiting the villages, and I urge the residents to elect me as governor so that I can devote my entire time to county government. I’ve received numerous phone calls from officials from various political parties requesting that I join their camp,” said Kawira.
According to Kawira, during the last election, party officials approached her in the same way and duped me. She said God delivered her, and she was able to escape their clutches victorious;
“I urge residents not to be concerned about political parties because I continue to carry out development projects despite not being a member of any political party. Kiraitu is the founder, distributor, manufacturer, father, grandfather, owner, and coordinator of political parties,” she said.
“I’m curious about his work with political parties. We’d like to label him as a party manufacturer and distributor, but he hasn’t done anything with them. I’m curious what he’ll accomplish with the bus party that he didn’t with the Jubilee party. The Jubilee party was a national party that formed the government and included the president and vice president, but Kiraitu accomplished nothing in Meru County,” said Kawira.
Kawira said she was curious what Kiraitu could accomplish with a tribal party comprised of officials from his community.
“He was unable to carry out development projects as a member of a national party, but he believes he will be able to do so as a member of a community party. As a result of the work I had done for the residents of Meru County, I was ranked number one in best performing woman representatives, and I urge the residents of Meru County not to be concerned about my plans on political parties,” said Kawira.
According to Kawira, the track record is determined by projects completed by individuals. She urged residents not to dismiss independent candidates who would have outperformed political parties.
“They need to be encouraged and pushed hard. I implore the residents to join me in my prayers and vote for me as their Governor this time around, as there is no harm in changing their leader. Former governor Peter Munya was elected for a single five-year term, and Kiraitu Murungi was elected for a five-year term,” said Kawira.
Kawira Urged Meru County residents to vote for Kawira Mwangaza, a woman this time round.
