Kimilili MP Mr Didmus Barasa has denied charges of assaulting a musician and was released on Sh100,000 bail.
The MP was charged on Monday, after he was arrested at his Kimilili home on suspicion of assaulting an artist and leaving him with physical injuries.
In a video posted online, the MP was seen slapping Mr Stephen Masinde, known as Steve Kay, and Mr Ronald Graham on Friday for refusing to hand over classrooms that had been built at a cost of Sh3.4 million.
Mr Barasa was expected to order five new classrooms built at Baptist Lurare Primary School through State Development Fund (NGCDF) development in Kamukuywa, Kimilili.

Police on Monday said they received a P3 form from a musician following the July 30 incident.
Mr Barasa, speaking at Namasanda Primary School, said he had never slapped Masinde, instead, saying he was asking him to zip up his pants as he was embarrassed.
“Since he is my friend I saw him as he went to help himself and forgot to close his zipper. I see his small car inside is not locked and I said let me run and tell him to close the shop. Now when I went to tell him that he ran away and thought I was going to beat him, ”Barasa defended himself.
Police said they would take further action on the issue.
