Former Nkuene Ward MCA Nick Mburugu has said that Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi Kiraitu is using his deputy Titus Ntuchiu to gain popularity in his backyard and because Ntuchiu is a hard worker.
Speaking during a funeral ceremony, Nick said that Rufus Miriti was the Meru County government Chief of Staff, but Gideon Kimathi, who hails from Kiraitu’s community in Abogeta, had taken over his duties.
According to Nick, Gideon is in charge of overseeing the preparation of Kiraitu’s tea as well as the opening of doors for the Governor.
“Gideon is now superior to Meru Deputy Governor Titus Ntuchiu. Ntuchiu is a generous person. God was once enraged by His people and struck them with a stick in a church. If a girl opens her heart to every man, he fills the home with many children because she feels merciful,” said Nick.
Ntuchiu said that Nick lost his manners when he brought politics into a funeral, and urged him to refrain from discussing the work done by the county government because he lost his seat in the last election.
According to Ntuchiu, he is the deputy governor and minister of finance in Meru County and is well-versed in his field.
“I am not from Abogeta and I am in charge of money in the Meru County government. I am the one who allocates and allocates it properly with the assistance of Kiraitu Murungi. Former Meru Governor Munya’s deputy used to slap him and spend most of his time reading newspapers because he had no work to do,” said Ntuchiu.
Ntuchiu said that people should stop giving him instructions on how to do his job because he knew how to do it. He stated that they work together with Kiraitu Murungi and are united in their efforts.
EALA MP Mpuru Aburi agreed with Nick, adding that people in Meru deputy governor Titus Ntuchiu’s backyard in Antuamwathi, Kimaachia, Kianjai, and Tigania had complained about a lack of development.
“Kiraitu Murungi appointed all top Meru County officials from his Abogeta community, including drivers, cooks, chief of staff, and ministers. Even after humbling themselves, the people of Tigania are saddened by it, and they are peacefully requesting help. If Kiraitu Murungi’s government refuses to assist us, we will send them home in 2022,” said Mpuru.
Makarina said that because Meru County residents’ votes enabled CS Munya to speak and be recognized in the statehouse, he should not return to the village in 2022.
“I’d like to thank Meru Deputy Governor Titus Ntuchiu for vouching for me to Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi and telling him that I was capable of assisting the people in the community,” said Makarina.
“In the Kimeru tradition, a circumcised man does not return to his mother’s house to eat food. I’m not referring to Kilemi and Kariithi, but to CS Munya. If he wishes to return to Meru County and run for Governor, no one else will be contacted by phone and offered the CS seat,” said Makarina.
According to Mpuru, In 1992, he became a councilor, and in 2013, Kariithi and he were elected to the parliament. He said that they both lost in 2017, and are both campaigning for re-election in 2022.
“Mbabu’s wife is the daughter of a man named Ntothimangu. Ntothimangu is the man behind the construction of Mutindwa’s County Hotel. Ntothimangu served as county chairman for many years, from Thuchi to Ntonyiri, and he improved the lives of Meru County residents in general,” said Mpuru.
“I’d like to inform Ntuchiu that the crown is taken while it is still on the head. He should remember what Ntothimangu did and hire one of Ntothimangu’s daughters to work for the Meru County Government. If Ntuchiu fails to hire one of Ntothimangu’s daughters, we send them home with Kiraitu in 2022,” said Mpuru.
Makarina said that he agreed with everything Mpuru said and said that he would vote for him. He asked that whenever Mpuru spoke, he not criticize Kiraitu because he had benefited from him.
According to Nick, now that Ntuchiu is campaigning alongside Kiraitu, he should ask him to stop playing tricks on him.
“When Ntuchiu works on development projects in Kiraitu Murungi’s backyard, he should work on development projects in his own backyard as well. I request that Ntuchiu comes to me wherever he is because I will be in charge. He should not be sad because I am in charge. When there is trouble, he will see a mass decampment to my side,” said Nick
Nick said Ntuchiu was lucky to be his in-law and that he would not look down on him if he joined his camp.
“Kiraitu undertakes a single development project in Ntuchiu’s backyard, leaving other sectors in disarray, and you are the one who does all the work. Ntuchiu should stop being merciful because Kiraitu will take advantage of him, and when he returns to his Tigania community, they will hang him politically despite the fact that he is a good person,” said Nick.
According to Nick, Kiraitu has appointed all top county officials from Abogeta, which is also his backyard.
Nick said that top administrators in Kiraitu Murungi’s government were from Abogeta and wondered how long Ntuchiu would be deceived. He urged him should speak up so that he can rescue him.
