Ted Kitana, better known as Teacher Kilunda, an ex-Tahidi High actor, has revealed how a sudden loss of income due to the show’s cancellation forced him to relocate to his rural home in order to make ends meet. Teacher Kilunda was one of the stars of Citizen TV’s Tahidi High, a weekly local show.
“As a result, I had to devise quick ways to survive.” The first step was to move here (in Kangundo). It took some getting used to, but I’ve grown to appreciate the location. My family is still in Nairobi, but I prefer living in the village. There is no pressure on the food. Unless a job opportunity arises, I have no plans to return to the city.
“I can say it was an abrupt decision by management because we woke up one morning and our services were not required,” he explained.
