Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, the son of former Libyan leader Muammar al-Gaddafi, registered today (14/11) as the presidential candidate for the December 24 elections, according to an election commission official.
Speaking after the Libyan summit in Paris, Prime Minister Abdulhamid Debayba said he would hand over power if the election process was conducted in a “consensual and fair manner”.
For his part, the president of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed el-Menfi, said that if the electoral commission manages to hold parliamentary and presidential elections on December 24, he will hand over power.
