Reports of a lorry transporting the leaves of baths edulis, Khat also commonly known as ‘Muguka’ involved in a fatal accident emerged online eliciting mixed reactions among Kenyans.
According to the source, the accident occurred at a place known as Muthari along Embu- Kanyoro road in Embu county. An eye witness revealed that the lorry lost control for unknown reasons and hit an electricity pole.

Good Samaritan rushed to the scene to rescue victims, several two occupants were removed from the trap of the vehicle and rushed to a nearby hospital while the driver was feared dead on spot.
Police officers were informed and toured the scene to investigate the cause of the accident. The deceased driver was later recognized as Fredrick Mugo, the body was collected to the morgue.

The officers appealed to Muguka drivers to be extra vigilant and go slow to avoid such accidents
