With less than a year now remaining for Kenyans to go to the polls, Uhuru’s Gema backyard has been appearing to be restless.

The leaders of the region have been divided with some of them supporting Uhuru while others supporting his Deputy Ruto.

Ruto has increasingly been gaining more support in the region with with his new party UDA winning in most of the recent by-elections held in the region against Uhuru’s Jubilee Party.

Ruto’s growing popularity in the region has consequently seen some allies of Uhuru hint at joining Ruto’s UDA.

Yesterday, Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru hinted at quitting Jubilee with many speculating that she could be planning to join Ruto.

Sabina Chege has now spoken on quiting Jubilee and joining Ruto’s UDA just like Waiguru.

Speaking to the Star, the Vocal women Rep has dismissed claims that she plans to join UDA.

According to her, she will not quit the ruling party and any point ahead of next year’s polls and she will stay put and revamp the party.

She has also cautioned Waiguru that a party does not make someone a leader but rather a person’s policies.
