National Assembly resumes sittings

The National Assembly will resume its sittings today at 2.30 p.m. According to the House Business Committee’s agenda, priority business upon resumption includes-

(i) Approval of the Budget Estimates for the National Government, Parliament and Judiciary for the Financial year 2021/2022;

(ii) Presentation of the Budget Highlights for the Financial year 2021/2022 by the Cabinet Secretary for Finance;

(iii) Introduction, consideration and passage of the Appropriations Bill, 2021- before end of the financial year;

(iv) Introduction, consideration and passage of the Finance Bill, 2021

(v) Consideration of the County Allocation of Revenue Bill, 2021, upon receipt from the Senate. The Bill divides the share of national revenue due to the County Governments amongst the 47 Counties;

(vi) Committee of the whole House and Third Reading of the Public Private Partnerships Bill and its referral to the Senate

(vii) Debate on Report of the Public Accounts Committee on its consideration of the Auditor-General on the Financial Statements for the National Government for the Financial Year 2017/2018;

(viii) Debate on the Report of the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning on the Inspection Visits to Ascertain the Impact of Revenue Enhancement Initiatives on Revenue Collection;

(ix) Report of the Committee on Implementation on its consideration of the Implementation Status on a Petition Regarding Working Conditions at Kwale International Sugar Company Limited;

(x) Committee of the whole House and Third Reading of the Referendum Bill, 2020 sponsored by the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs before its referral to the Senate;

(a) The National Cohesion And Peace Building Bill (Senate Bill No. 35 of 2018);

(b) The Kenya National Blood Transfusion Service Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 6 of 2020);

(c) The WAQF Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 73 of 2019); and

(d) The Social Assistance (Repeal) Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 16 of 2020).
