The Inspector General of the National Police Service has pledged NPS’ commitment to collaboration and cooperation with agencies under the umbrella of the National Council of the Administration of Justice (NCAJ).
Speaking during the launch of the NCAJ strategic plan 2021/26, the IG hailed NCAJ as a “body that has brought together agencies in the justice sector as equal partners for the common good of the mwananchi.
“NPS has been a major beneficiary of the NCAJ partnership that has seen officers taken through trainings offered by NCAJ, leading to enriched case management and higher conviction rates.
The strategic plan paves the road towards a unified justice sector focused on efficient and responsive service delivery.
On 27th October, 2021 an incident was reported by Ol Moran Police Station on a contact between NPS officers and bandits within the Laikipia Nature Conservancy resulting in some casualties.
The incident occurred when officers engaged on the ongoing operation to restore mormalcy were ambushed by the bandits.
NPS and partners under the multi-agency team are continuing to flush out the bandits until normalcy is restored.
The conservancy remains an active multi agency operation zone, and the public are requested to remain calm.
The Inspector General of the National Police Service Mr. Hilary Mutyambai and the Director DCI Mr. George Kinoti are among the members of the National Council on Administration of Justice who attended the NCAJ consultation steering committee meeting in Mombasa.
The meeting culminated with the launch of a new strategic plan for 2021/26 that will offer guidance to the agencies under NCAJ umbrella on Service delivery to the public.
On 31 October 2021 there shall be an international event namely ‘Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon 2021’ taking place in Nairobi City.
The event shall affect transport within the city and environs, inconveniencing motorists and other road users. Affected roads are: Southern bypass from Carnivore to Dagoreti Corner interchange, which shall remain closed from 1.00am – 2.00pm (estimated end of the marathon).
Road users are also adviced to avoid using Mombasa road turnoff to Southern bypass at Ole Sereni Hotel and also Mombasa road turnoff at ICD which shall remain closed.
The public is further advised to use main Mombasa Road or alternative routes than those to be closed to avoid inconvenience. The public’s cooperation during the event shall be appreciated.
