Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations apprehended him as he prepared to board a flight to Qatar.
Asiago, according to the DCI, murdered his son Byron Asiago after a domestic squabble and then fled to Mexico.
“Byron’s brother told detectives that a disagreement arose after their father, who was intoxicated, demanded to know what he had brought home from his day at the local center,” the Directorate said in a statement distributed via Twitter.
“Incensed by his father’s comments, Byron asked him a similar question, asking him what he had to show for his day’s activities other than returning home in a drunken stupor, because he was jobless and had gone to look for a job that didn’t come by.”
This allegedly sparked a fight, which resulted in the young man’s death.
“Since then, Asiago has gone into hiding and has been operating between Nakuru and Nairobi until this afternoon, when our hawk-eyed sleuths pounced on him as he was about to fly out,” said the DCI.
