The images of violence from the Middle East in recent days are shocking. Al Jazeera has released another video from Gaza showing a 14-storey building collapsing after an Israeli bombing raid.
It was the third building to collapse in a 24-hour air raid. The al-Shorouq tower housed media offices and the attack took place on Wednesday.
Violence is escalating in the Middle East as Israeli military clashes with Hamas Islamists continue unabated, but at the same time it is facing unrest in its mixed Arab-Israeli cities.
After midnight, air defense sirens warning of incoming rockets sounded again in the south, in the Tel Aviv metropolis, but – for the first time since Monday – in the north as well.
Five people were injured when a rocket hit an apartment building in Peta Tikva, near Tel Aviv.
At the same time, the Israeli air force continued to strike Hamas positions in the Gaza Strip, a Palestinian enclave where two million people live under Israeli blockade.
Meanwhile, a video was released today showing a crowd of people in Israel attacking a man believed to be Arab near Tel Aviv.
The video shows the crowd pulling the driver out of the car and beating him in groups, until he loses consciousness.
The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a beach in Bat Yam, south of Tel Aviv.
