Nigerian authorities have recovered the bodies of more than 70 people after an overloaded boat capsized in the northwestern state of Kebi on Wednesday, a state spokesman said.
“Seventy-six bodies have been recovered so far, while 22 people have been rescued. “Divers are looking for more bodies,” Abubakar Dakingari, a spokesman for the Kebi governor, said on Friday.
The wooden boat carried 100-200 people, according to the estimates of the authorities and the locals.
