A Kogi State Polytechnic National Diploma II student was arrested for having a gun on campus. According to Channels TV, security agencies identified the student as Shehu Mohammed, a student from the department of public administration with the matriculation number 2018/ND/PAD/170.
During a stop and search, a locally made gun and five rounds of ammunition were discovered on the student, according to the media.
According to PM News, Mohammed, who came to write his final exam, tried to flee when school security asked him to hand over his belongings for search.
He was arrested, however, and turned over to the appropriate law enforcement agency for further questioning and investigation.
It was suspected that the student was a cultist who intended to use the gun during his colleagues’ usually lethal end-of-examination celebrations.
