North Imenti 2022 politics

Must read

North Imenti politics are becoming more tense as the election year 2022 approaches.

Aspirant candidates have come out and announced their intentions to run for the Member of Parliament seat in the North Imenti constituency in 2022.

Women, girls, men, the elderly, and young men are among them. Silas Muriuki, a former Member of Parliament from North Imenti, is among those who have declared their intention to run for the seat.

“Kiraitu Murungi is my age mate and an elderly man who needs to be told to stop oppressing the Ameru people. Many people are unaware that I am a highly successful milk businessman,” said Silas Muriuki.

“In a single day, my cows produce 6 barrels of milk. Six barrels of milk are equivalent to 300 liters of milk. I used to be paid Ksh 28 per liter of milk, but now I am paid Ksh 48 per liter of milk,” he said.

Muriuki boasted that with such earnings in the dairy project, he will give his political opponents a run for their money.

“Other aspiring candidates for North Imenti member of parliament in 2022 seem to believe that I will be in the race. They should be aware that I am still in the race and that I am preparing for it,” he said.

The former MP added that he was just reintroducing himself and the real campaign would be launched soon.

The MCA of municipality ward has also announced his intention to run for the North Imenti Member of Parliament in 2022.

He said that because there is democracy, aspiring candidates should run for office in any party of their choice.

“Voters will choose whoever they want as their leader. I will also be in the race for the North Imenti Member of Parliament in 2022,” said Murega.

Everything seems to change quickly in politics, and what an aspiring candidate had planned may not be the case.

Many things happen at the last minute as elections approach, and aspirants who have announced their intentions to run for office are persuaded to change their plans by other political influencers.

Beatrice Karwitha, a former North Imenti member of parliament aspirant who did not receive enough votes in the 2017 election, has been persuaded by other political influencers to abandon her plans to run for the elective seat again in 2022 and to pursue a different political path.

The former aspirant appeared confused while speaking at a political function after EALA MP Mpuru Aburi advised her to abandon her plans to run for MP in North Imenti Constituency, this is after he had announced to her candidacy earlier.

“I am not currently in active politics, but as 2022 approaches, I will announce which political seat I will seek, said Karwitha.

“EALA MP Mpuru Aburi advised me this morning that I should run for Women Representative seat, but my heart tells me that I should run for North Imenti Member of Parliament instead,’ she said.

The former aspirant said that when 2022 elections approach , she will consult with everyone to determine which position is best for her and her people.

She went on to say that leadership cannot exist without women, and that women must be given political positions.
