Police in Nyamira are investigating an incident in which a motorist in a speeding car threw gunny bags containing body parts of a man at Konate junction, Nyamira county.
Residents of the busy Kisii-Ikonge-Nyamira town said the vehicle had no registration number.
The motorist dropped two white gunny bags which were discovered to contain body parts of a male adult.
The body parts stashed in the gunny bags were wrapped in black and red polythene bags.
Nyamira South Subcounty Commander Moses Kirong on Wednesday said the bags were dropped at at around 10pm on Monday by a speeding vehicle.
Kirong said upon examination, the head was missing.
“We have instituted investigations into the incident and we hope to unravel the murder,” he said.
Nyamira county commissioner Amos Mariba, through his social media pages, said the DCI was leading investigations.
“It’s a cold blood incident which the DCI has already instituted investigations into. We promise speedy action and the mysterious killers will be known,” Mariba said.
The body parts were taken to Nyamira County Referral Hospital.
