Led by ODM chairman John Mbadi and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed the MPs claimed Dr Ruto was planning to use the NRM to cause unrest in the country if he loses the 2022 presidential election.
The MPs also claimed that the friendship between Dr Ruto and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni aims to help the Deputy President use ‘dirty’ tactics to come to power.
“We know very well how his friend came to power and how he has undermined democracy and human rights in Uganda in more than three terms. Ruto wants to bring about such a dictatorship in Kenya, ‘Mr Junet said, reading a statement on behalf of his 10 colleagues in the parliament building, Nairobi.
“We do not want to interfere in the internal politics of other nations. But we want to make it clear that we do not need to borrow political dynamics from those nations that could cause unrest in our nation, ”Mr Junet added.
Warning Kenyans against Dr Ruto’s leadership, the lawmakers expressed fears that the Deputy President would run for office if he was elected to succeed his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta.
‘”In embracing the NRM and its totalitarian policies, which violate human rights and freedom of expression, Dr Ruto has revealed that life will be more difficult under his leadership. He has also shown that if he gets power he will not let go of what his friend is doing in the country, ‘Mr Junet, who is a minority member of parliament, explained.
For his part, Mr Mbadi said it was ironic that Dr Ruto claimed to have created an economic system that would bring prosperity to the country while sending investors to neighboring Uganda.

“This system of stimulating economic growth from the grassroots level will not help Kenya if it continues to send out investors. Why didn’t he advise an investor from Turkey to invest here in Kenya? ‘ asked the South Suba MP.
Speaking yesterday morning on Inooro TV, Dr Ruto reiterated that President Museveni is his friend and ‘friend of Kenya’.
“It is true that Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni is a friend. But he is also a friend of all Kenyans considering that Uganda is Kenya’s largest trading partner, ”said Dr Ruto.
“I have campaigned for him. And all Nasa officials have also campaigned for him. Now if he is a friend of all why is there a big problem if the Deputy President is visiting such a leader? ” he asked.
Dr Ruto also defended a Turkish citizen by the name of Harun Aydin who was among the people who were scheduled to travel with him on a visit to Uganda on Monday.
“This is a businessman and investor. He is not a terrorist or a criminal of any kind claimed by other people, ”he explained.
Dr Ruto was barred from leaving the country to travel to Uganda for what was described as a lack of approval from the presidency.
The Deputy President was forced to stay at Wilson Airport for five hours, but in the end the immigration officials refused to allow him to travel.
However, MPs Oscar Sudi (Kapseret), Benjamin Tayari (Kinango) and Ndindi Njoro (Kiharu) and his local businessmen were allowed to travel to Uganda.
