The Head of State said that he had have known the late Ole Magelo for a long time and from his interactions with him, he came to appreciate his commitment and desire to make life better for others.
“He was a gentleman and a sports enthusiast who mentored very many youth people through football to become great men and women in our country. Many remember Ole Magelo for the good work he did as Chairman of Kenyan football giants AFC Leopards, ”President Kenyatta eulogised.
From 2013 to 2017, Magelo was the County Speaker of Nairobi. He backed current Speaker Benson Mutura last year after withdrawing from the race to replace ousted former Speaker Beatrice Elachi.
Magelo was born in the Olorropil area of Narok North Sub County but moved to Kajiado County when he was a child. He is survived by his widow, Lucy Muthoni Magelo, and their children.
