A person has been critically injured after a serious crash in Gitwiki village in Meru County.
According to eyewitnesses, a motorcyclist and a car collided on Giantune road when the overspeeding car overtaking failed to maneuver on time and rammed into a motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction.
Eyewitnesses said the male rider of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries.
“The crash was so severe that there is blood mixed with brain organs scattered on the road. Only God will be able to save him, an eyewitness said.

A boda boda operator said that drivers do not respect them and act as if they do not exist on the roads.
“The driver of the vehicle did not care about the rider because he was safely enclosed in his vehicle. Now that the rider has been injured, he will be unable to support his family. The driver will not also support the rider’s family. I urge drivers to be considerate of motorcyclists on the road, as we are all trying to make ends meet on a daily basis,” a boda boda operator said.
Another boda boda operator said that The condition of the road doesn’t allow overspeeding of vehicles and motorcycles.
“There is a black spot near the accident scene. where cars frequently become stranded,” said an eyewitness.
The boda boda operator urged Hon. Dawood, Abdul Rahim to repair the road because the bearings of their motorcycles wear out quickly and they have to replace them on a regular basis.
