Petitions conveyed to National Assembly during the week

The following Petitions were conveyed to the National Assembly during the week:-

(i) Pursuant to Standing Order 225(2)(b) requiring the Speaker to report to the House any Petition, other than those presented by a Member, the Speaker conveyed the following petitions: –

• Petition by Ms. Susan Gachango regarding abolishment of police clearance certificates requirement for citizens seeking employment;

• Petition by Messrs David O. Olumasai, Ian N. Gicobi and Elvin O. Mangeni regarding violation of the right to relevant education and training by Egerton University;

• Petition by Mr. Taratisio Ireri Kawe regarding Zero rating on taxation of water tanks, farming equipment and tools as laid out in the Finance Act and other relevant legislation;

• Petition by persons identifying themselves as contractors and suppliers of goods & services to NYS regarding Payment of pending bills owed to suppliers of the National Youth Service (NYS) for the period 2013 to 2018;

(ii) Pursuant to Standing Order 225(3) the following Petitions were presented by: –

a) The Member for Galole (Hon. Said Hiribae, MP) on behalf of the residents of Galole Constituency regarding degazettement of 2,000 acres of Hola irrigation scheme land for expansion of Hola Town;

b) The Member for Laikipia North (Hon. Sara Paulata Korere, MP) on behalf of resident of Laikipia North Constituency regarding reinstatement of Kirimon Community Land to the rightful owners.
