Politics of deceit, betrayal and backstabbing

Must read

Kenyans will go to the polls on August 9, 2022, just over a year from now. Politicians are preparing to run for office in various political parties as the election season approaches.

The IEBC has also released a calendar outlining the timeline for the elections. Before we go into more detail about the IEBC’s plans for the general elections, let’s take a look at the Meru County gubernatorial seat.

Kiraitu Murungi is the current Governor of Meru County. There are candidates vying to succeed Governor Kiraitu Murungi in 2022.

While Governor Kiraitu Murungi has declared his intention to run for re-election, Meru County Women Representative Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza has also declared her intention to run for Governor.

Peter Munya, who said that he is currently on political leave, has also stated his desire to unseat Governor Kiraitu Murungi.

Plans for political alignments have emerged as a result of the emergence of the three aspirants. Kiraitu Murungi is preparing to form a political party that he will use to plan his political line-up in 2022.

Kiraitu Murungi’s party, which he claims is for the people of Mt. Kenya, is made up of officials and members of his Abogeta community.

Complaints arose as a result of people accusing Kiraitu Murungi of forming his own political party.

The question we should ask is whether the party is democratic. Will the officials comprised of Kiraitu Murungi’s family members and close allies allow another person besides Kiraitu Murungi to declare interest in running for Governor with the party?

It implies that Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza cannot join the party being formed by Kiraitu Murungi for the people of Mt. Kenya.

The reason for this is that during the Jubilee party nominations in 2017, Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza was duped by Kiraitu Murungi.

Mithika Linturi and Kiraitu Murungi were at the forefront of the Jubilee party when she was duped. The question now is which political party will Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza join.

For the time being, Mithika Linturi is regarded as the UDA party’s frontier in Meru County. He’s mentioned it a few times.

He claimed that one of the UDA party officials is from the Abogeta community.

“We, the founders of the UDA party, are not as foolish as we appear or as you may believe because the leaders we have in Meru County are not ordinary,” Mithika Linturi said.

“God made it possible for good leaders to be elected, and we are aware of power plays and games. The UDA party is represented at the highest level of the party hierarchy.

“Kimathi, the deputy chairman, is from the Abogeta community, Mithika Linturi said.

Any mention of the word Abogeta indicates that the party officials of Kiraitu Murungi’s upcoming party are all from the Abogeta community.

The question is whether Kiraitu Murungi wields influence in both the UDA and his upcoming Mt. Kenya East party.

It appears that Kiraitu Murungi’s right arm in the UDA party is Mithika Linturi and Kimathi from Abogeta.

Mithika Linturi only mentioned one name, Kimathi, and did not specify which Kimathi. It could be Gideon Kimathi, a close ally of Kiraitu Murungi’s chief of staff.

Mithika Linturi is a close ally of Kiraitu Murungi. According to Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza, as the Kimeru proverb goes, “A bird that is always frightened does not build its nest near the road.”

Mithika Linturi led the delegation for Kiraitu Murungi’s homecoming ceremony at his residence, so the two have been together since the beginning.

It implies that whenever you see Mithika Linturi, you’re looking at Kiraitu Murungi.

It means that with Mithika Linturi as the UDA party’s leader in Meru County, it will be difficult for Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza to join the party.

Another factor complicating matters is Mithika Linturi’s repeated assertion that Kiraitu Murungi’s people are also members of the UDA party.

“Are you aware that prayers take precedence over all other considerations? Are you aware that when we pray, no one understands what is going on in Meru County except those who are filled with the Holy Spirit?,” Hon Bishop Kawira Mwangaza said.

“Only those who speak in tongues can comprehend what you are witnessing in Meru County; otherwise, people are unable to comprehend.

“People had already formed and aligned themselves in groups at a time like now, during the 2017 general election campaigns.

“Some went by the name Kikali, while others were already politically aligned. However, they have been unable to organize themselves due to a lack of prayers.

“They will not organize themselves anytime soon, and we will be the ones to point them in the right direction. We will show them the path to Christ that will benefit the Meru child.

“Politics in Meru County was intense at a time like this, during the 2017 general election campaigns. There were various campaigns, such as choppers and branded T-shirts.

“At the moment, however, we have dismembered satanic politics with prayers.

“We have stated that we need to be given a chance so that children who have never had the opportunity to pursue an education can do so.

“We want to be given a chance so that a self-help group that has never received funding can receive it. We want to be given a chance so that Meru County can advance economically and in terms of development.

“Because we are currently involved in a lot of political debates, the students will not receive the KSh 10,000 school bursary cheque that they would have received.

“We must continue to pray for Meru County in order for God to have mercy on us. I recently gave clothes to children who were wearing ripped sieve-like shirts.

“Someone is going around Meru County talking about parties when a child is dressed in ripped sieve-like T-shirts in this July cold weather.

“Someone else is launching a book that insults others, someone else is plotting Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza’s assassination and someone else is plotting how Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza will not hold meetings so she can help people.

“Let us get out of demonic, satanic, and foolish plans and look at where God is leading us and because it is where we are going.
