A premature baby was found after being thrown in a toilet by an unidentified person. The little tot was found by the tenants of a rental apartment in Maua-Basin in Meru county, who immediately informed the landlord.
It is not clear if the suspect gave birth to the baby in the toilet or whether she took the 7-month-old child to the toilets and dumped it.
Ann, a tenant who spoke to Baite Tv said: “We were astounded to discover a 7-month-old premature baby dumped in a toilet. In order for the investigations to be conducted, we have been locked out of our apartments.
I’m curious why someone would choose to dump a premature baby in a toilet when some people are having difficulty having children. The person who did this was irresponsible, inhumane, and reckless.
We encourage residents to team up and identify any recent visitor who was pregnant but whose pregnancy has since ended. The identification will aid the investigation and help to repair the negative image that has been painted of the women in the area.
We also urge the authorities to expedite the investigation in order to find the perpetrator.”
Another tenant said: “There is no distinction between the convicts serving life sentences in prison for murder and the person who dumped the baby in the toilet.
The suspect should be apprehended and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The suspect has also caused us great anguish due to the authorities locking us out of our rented houses while investigations are ongoing.”
Another tenant said: “I believe one of the members in our rented houses dumped the baby in the toilet because she hasn’t left her house since it was revealed. Despite the fact that everyone else is shocked and present at the scene, she does not appear to be involved.
I suggest that if we are all interrogated, she be the first person chosen.”
Another tenant told Baite Tv that she was perplexed as to why anyone would commit such a heinous act. she said that for years, she had prayed and asked God to bless her with a boy child without success.
Mama teddy, also a tenant said: “As a mother, I am extremely enraged by the suspect. It is an embarrassment to womanhood and disrespectful to childhood.
If I happened to know who dumped the premature baby in the toilet, I would give her a good beating. Later on, she would wash all of my clothes in order to teach her to respect womanhood.”
