President Uhuru Kenyatta and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson have rallied the world’s richest nations to support the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) initiative which seeks to raise 5 billion USD for the education of children in low income countries.
The two leaders made the appeal Thursday during a virtual conversation with pupils of Westlands Primary School in Nairobi and Cleves Cross Primary School in England during which the President and the PM fielded questions from learners.
Kenya and the UK will in July co-host a high-level GPE summit in London to raise the resources needed to support 175 million children to access quality education globally.
