President Uhuru Kenyatta spoke in Athi River, Machakos County during the re-opening of the rehabilitated Kenya Meat Commission (KMC) factory.
The President expressed satisfaction with the restoration of the meat processor by the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) saying Govt’s objective is to elevate the livestock sector into a key economic driver.
The complex was refurbished by the Kenya Defence Forces as part of the ongoing efforts by the Government through the Ministry of Defence to revive the livestock sector in the country.
The Head of State was accompanied on the tour by Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua, Defence CS Dr Monica Juma, Agriculture CS Hon. Peter Munya and Chief of Defence Forces General Robert Kibochi among other senior Govt and military officials.
