The ODM leader has today held a meeting at the Orange house to receive defectors at the Party headquarters.
This comes at a time when different political players are realigning ahead of the 2022 general elections.
The ODM party boss has received two sets of delegations who have joined the orange party and promised to rally behind its leader in next year’s general elections.
The ODM secretary-general said that the party is open to anybody willing to join the party and work together towards capturing the top seat.
One group of defectors were composed of people who were in ODM but fell out with the party during the Kibra by-election but have since resorted to rejoin the party.
The other group is of leaders from Central Kenya who had left the Jubilee party to UDA and have now resorted to joining the Orange Party.
Women from Kiambu visited Orange house where they made strong statements in regards to his 2022 bid.
The women who were mostly drawn from other parties openly decamped to the ODM party where they claimed that it was a major milestone for him.
Raila who has not yet confirmed that he will be having a shot at the top seat welcomed them to the party assuring them that all processes in the party will be free and fair and in accordance with the party’s constitution and that democracy will be the order of the day in the party.
In a video circulating online, pomp and color was the order of the day in the ceremony that saw many decamp to his party which enjoys massive support across the nation. Raila who spoke in the meeting said a major announcement will be made soon.
