Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has said that there is still sufficient time to conduct a referendum.
“Referendum can even be held two months or three months before the election. The two-thirds gender rule is also supposed to be satisfied. If nothing is done if you don’t change the Constitution, still, we’ll end up with the same anomaly in the next coming Parliament,” said Odinga.

“That’s why it’s better for us to have a permanent solution through a referendum by passing the BBI. In terms of resources, we have enough resources. They are demanding outrageous figures for doing elections making Kenya elections sound most expensive not only on this on the continent, but in the world,” said Raila Odinga.
