ODM Deputy party leader Wycliffe Oparanya has admitted that the party has lost on critical political seats in the past due to shambolic party primaries that see what he says, a great political aspirants ditch the orange party.
Oparanya says the party is now ready to implement proposed electoral reforms to oversee the all-important nomination exercise ahead of the 2022 elections.
“The party leader appointed a committee to look into this. This committee was led by Catherine Muma and the committee came up with quite a number of recommendations, which we intend to implement during this coming general election,” said Oparanya.
“I still want to assure the members of ODM that ODm is a very Democratic Party. And because of that, we want to have a very free and fair nomination during the party,” Oparanya
Oparanya said that he was honoured to host EALA MP Hon Dr Oburu Odinga who paid him a courtesy call in his office.
“We discussed a range of issues touching on the ODM party & politics in general as well as well being of our people,” said Oparanya.
EALA MP Oburu Odinga said Raila was the pillar of the party in Western Kenya and his image was bigger than a Colossus.
“I think he should continue to rise and rise even higher because he is doing a very good job in terms of politics and he’s also doing very good job in terms of development,” said Oburu .
Oparanya thanked Dr Oburu who he said he worked in Kakamega as the Western Provincial Planning Officer, for appreciating the work he did in Kakamega as the Governor of the County.
