Police looking for missing student Richard Okorogheye, 19, have discovered the body of a man in Epping Timberland, Essex.
The Metropolitan Police said it had been told by partners in Essex that the body was found in a lake in the forest.
Det Supt Danny Gosling said the body still can’t seem to be officially recognized.
Talking outside New Scotland Yard, he affirmed Mr Okorogheye’s family have been educated and are being upheld by uniquely prepared officials.
“An after death will occur in the blink of an eye, as will formal ID,” Det Supt Gosling added.
“This is a broad request and we are working enthusiastically.
“Our officials and expert hunt groups and canines have been completing broad ventures since Richard was most recently seen on CCTV nearby.”
