Five rockets were fired Wednesday night at Balad air base north of Baghdad, two of which landed near a U.S. subcontractor, a security official told AFP.
“There are no casualties or damage,” said an unnamed official at the base, where Americans maintain Iraqi F-16 fighter jets.
The air base in the city of Balad is often the target of rocket attacks launched – according to Washington – by armed pro-Iranian organizations.
