Deputy President William Ruto has recently sparked massive stir, debates and arguments across all social platforms after he boldly sent another powerful message to the Mt. Kenya Foundation leaders.
Speaking in Nyahururu, where he donated Ksh2 million to small business owners, Ruto said that the leaders conducting interviews in a Nairobi hotel to determine the next president will not be the ones to make decisions for the people. People, he claims, will make their own decisions.
“Will the election to elect the next President take place in a hotel or on the ground? People will elect the next president, and those conducting interviews in hotels are going about their business “Ruto remarked.
OKA leaders met the Mt. Kenya Foundation leaders met over lunch, from noon, at the Safari Park Hotel to present their input in the consultations towards Mt Kenya region’s position and stake in the next government.
According to insiders, the group will eventually meet President Kenyatta to present its preferred presidential candidate.
In the previous meeting, the ODM leader was engaged on enhancing businesses, the inclusion of persons living with disability among other issues. Similar concerns may find their way on today’s agenda.
“If those select few individuals believe that they will be able to amass wealth in the next government, I would like to inform them that the people want a government that will find wealth for them, jobs, businesses, and grow the agriculture, so that all of us can fit into the Kenyan government,” Ruto said.
“In Nyahururu, there are 750 small business owners whose operations have deteriorated. These small business owners sent me their names, and before I leave, I will donate Sh2M to them,” he said.
Ruto said that the money came from his pocket and assured the residents that he would ensure that Sh120M would be allocated to the CDF in each constituency to assist small business owners.
“It is for this reason that we advocate for everyone to have money in order to avoid being bothered by shylocks and fuliza, as well as being listed in the CRB, so that everyone can conduct business,” he said.
Rut said that the votes of the youth would help form the next government.
