According to The Star, President Uhuru Kenyatta announced yesterday that he will choose his 2022 successor from among the Nasa principles if they unite and agree on a single candidate when speaking with elected leaders from the Ukambani area at State House in Nairobi.
The DP wondered what would happen to the over eight million Kenyans who sang tano tena in response to a headline in one of the local daily that his boss will openly back one of the leaders of the disbanded alliance.
The politician, on the other hand, declared that with God’s help, he will continue his campaign for the presidency.
EUCHO!!NGAI FAFA MWATHANI!! So, what happens to the Thurakus, the kumìrà kùmèrà contingent, the 8 million of us?? None, no youth, no woman, no man of the 8M who woke up early and voted 3 times for UK/WsR ticket merit support? Sawa tu! Tutajipanga na support ya MUNGU.
On Thursday, April 15, Ruto told Citizen TV that he did not put any conditions on the president’s support, but instead joined hands with him because he believed they could build a partnership that would improve Kenya.
“I never gave him conditions to support him. He’s the one who said 10 for him and 10 for me. I never said that. He’s an adult who has the freedom to change his mind.
“We’ll continue being friends whether he supports me or not; we’ve been together from KANU days, International Criminal Court cases and ran government together. After all, it’s Kenyans who will elect the next president. The next president will not be appointed,” Ruto stated.
