Deputy President William Ruto has said that his UDA government plans to eliminate hunger, expand the economy, and stop borrowing money and keep the government from becoming a perpetual borrower.
Speaking in Kajiado South Constituency at the Holy Mass at Kimana Christ the King Catholic Church in Kajiado County, Ruto said that instead of blackmailing people his opponents should sell their plans to the people and express themselves to the people.
“Currently, there are 150 members of UDA from all over Kenya, and this is our plan for a national political party made up of all Kenyans. I’m curious how my opponents’ small tribal political parties will unite all Kenyans. Every leader should keep the people informed of his or her plans. We have stated that we want bottom-up plans for UDA,” Ruto said.
Ruto said that UDA intends to take care of millions of unemployed children, farmers in order to increase their productivity, business people including small and medium-sized enterprises by improving their businesses.
According to Ruto, every leader should bring their own track record, and the residents will make the final decision. He said that they can make the election very smooth and peaceful, giving Kenyans the opportunity to vote for the leaders of their choice.
“We are approaching the general elections, which will be held on August 9, 2022, and I would like to remind Kenyans that we made a pledge as Kenyans that we will never allow politics to divide us again, that we will be united, and that our politics will not be violent, divisive, or ethnic in order to unite our country,” he said.
“All Kenyans are aware that President Uhuru Kenyatta and I initiated the foundation of politics, and we stated that we must change the foundation of our politics in Kenya to eliminate hatred, division, and tribalism so that we can build the foundation of politics in Kenya, which is to unite citizens and politics of planning development projects,” he said.
Ruto requested those he is competing with to refrain from blackmailing, threatening, intimidating, and instilling fear in the public. He said that Kenyans rejected blackmail and fear-mongering politics adding that Kenyans said that they do not want to be sold fear and that they do not want it even if it is free.
Ruto said that he wanted every leader to express themselves to the citizens in the same way that the UDA stated that their party is meant to unite Kenyans.
