Ruto welcomes Kiambu leaders to UDA

Must read

Political tensions between the two Kiambu County leaders are escalating.

Thika MP Patrick Wainaina, and former Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu, are aiming for the Kiambu governorship.

Others who are also in the running for the seat are current governor Dr James Nyoro and Senator Kimani Wamatangi.

Another is Mr William Kabogo who was the first governor of the county who is in the process of making his Tujibebe Wakenya Party famous.

The politics of Kiambu County are becoming increasingly competitive with each other as a party seeking leadership through it.

When Deputy President Dr William Ruto visited Kiambu County, several Mount Kenya officials came out to welcome him.

Some of them are Thika MP Patrick Wainaina, Ferdinand Waititu, and Alice Ng’ang ‘a former Thika MP.

Now the political turmoil is between the Wainaina and Waititu who have both identified themselves with the UDA party.

Even Mr Wainaina was already wearing a yellow hat in front of the crowd to prove his support for Dr Ruto.

Political analysts say Kiambu County, a stronghold of President Uhuru Kenyatta, will witness the cutting-edge politics.

Currently Governor Nyoro is leaning towards the Jubilee side which belongs to President Kenyatta.

So it means he will take the direction of the Jubilee party.

For his part, he defends himself, saying he has succeeded in bringing water, health, roads, and agriculture to life. All this he has done for the two years he has been in charge.

Mr Wainaina, for his part, also hinted that he had helped create a local road.

He is also defending himself on encouraging farmers to start engaging in quality macadamia farming, rehabilitating more than 25 primary schools, and providing bursary development funding from government offices.

Mr Waititu also defended himself to the people that he was suddenly removed from the post of governor and is confident that given the opportunity he will complete his development agenda.

Ms Alice Ng’ang’a who is running for the Thika parliamentary seat says she has not forgotten the projects she has developed, so she urges Thika residents to try her a second time to fulfill her promise.

However, political analysts claim that the political dance will be fully witnessed during the run-up to the by-elections.

That is when we will see the emergence of politicians moving from one party to another.
