A conductor ran away from a crash after he lost control of the wheel and hit a tree in Imenti Central, Meru County.
According to the driver, he parked the car in Meru after driving from Nairobi, and the conductor took it without his knowledge.
“I was surprised to learn that it had been involved in an accident because I assumed he knew how to drive.,” said the driver.
The circumstances around the collision are yet to be established.
According to an eyewitness, she traveled in the car from Nairobi, and when they stopped for lunch, the conductor took the car without the driver’s knowledge.
“The driver’s phone was in the car, and calls to it went unanswered. We later learned that it was involved in an accident,” said an eyewitness.
Eyewitnesses have claimed that no-one was injured.
The conductor had driven to Gikumene to pick up his girlfriend, according to reports.
