Three security guards who allegedly clobbered to death Brian Mbage, a student from Gathiruini Boys high school were Monday arraigned in a Kiambu court.

The suspects’ Joseph Mutahi, Kennedy Mutari Muriuki and Mary Achieng appeared before Githunguri Law court Senior Magistrate Victor Asiyo and were detained for a week to allow police complete investigations following a miscellaneous application filed by the DCI.

The form four student together with his five friends sneaked out of their school Wednesday night and crept into one of Komothai girls secondary school dormitories for an unknown mission.

The boys were however spotted by some girls who immediately raised alarm attracting the attention of the security guards and staff members who managed to get hold of Brian, beating him to death while the rest escaped.

A postmortem examination revealed he died as a result of excessive bleeding in the head.

The distraught family has since denied the reports, insisting their son who will be laid to rest on Wednesday at Ngegu village in Kiambu County was falsely accused.

His mother claimed she had received a contradicting death report from the school.

Human rights group Haki  Africa has weighed in on the matter and is calling for a comprehensive probe into the circumstances surrounding the death of the student citing negligence on the part of the boys’ school.
