The neighbor’s six-month-old puppy left his home in Houston on Saturday afternoon and went to the opposite house. Almost immediately, gunshots were heard and police were soon found in the neighborhood.
The young mother shot the puppy on the other side of the road, inside a residential area. At that time, she, her husband and her 5-year-old son were riding a bicycle outside their house.
Police said Vargas immediately pulled out her pistol when she saw the dog, firing three bullets. But one of them hit the little one in the stomach.
The child remains in the hospital in a stable condition and there are no fears for his life.
The dog, Bruno, suffered minor abrasions on his legs. His owner, who let him leave the house without a leash, also faces tensions with the law.
According to a local station in Houston, the friendly puppy found the door ajar and went outside. “He was not running over them and not barking,” said the owner, “he was just walking there when the woman started screaming.”
“I would rather my dog ​​had been shot than the child,” he concluded.
The police revealed that the mother does not have a white criminal record, she has been convicted, among other things, of grievous bodily harm.
