A father from Ohio has pleaded guilty to kidnapping, raping and killing his 10-year-old son, who lived for years in “extreme abuse and torture” before being beaten to death, prosecutors said.
Al Mutahan McLean, 32, has been charged with “extreme abuse” of his son Takoda Collins. The abuse of the child began in 2015 and ended with the death of the child on December 13, 2019, after he was “raped and beaten” by his father, said Montgomery County Attorney Matt Heck.
“Takoda has been subjected to various abuses, which have reached the point of extreme torture,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
McLean faces up to 40 years in prison.
His partner, 30-year-old Amanda Hinze, also pleaded guilty last Wednesday to manslaughter and faces up to 30 years in prison.
The sentences of both are expected to be announced on September 29.
According to court documents available to the Dayton Daily News, Takoda lived in appalling conditions in his father’s home, where he was locked up naked in the attic alone and was often subjected to emotional, physical and sexual abuse.
McLean allegedly called police in 2019 when Takoda lost consciousness after being raped and beaten.
It became known from the medical examiner’s office that the death of the child was caused by a serious injury with a sharp object and suffocation, while he was immersed in water in a bathtub.
He also had bruises and bruises all over his body, while photographs show blood on the wall of the house, images that were recorded during the investigation.
The couple removed the child from school in May 2018, thus isolating him even more.
“It’s a horrible thing to do. The child lived for years an unimaginable torture. “For these two defendants to be taken to prison; this is an important step,” said prosecutor Lynda Dodd.
