A dead baby has been found in a pit toilet.
It is believed a mother abandoned the prematurely born baby in the toilet in Kongoacheke, Meru County.
According to eyewitnesses, it is alleged the suspect was a form one student and that the suspect’s mother accompanied her to report to the school, implying that they worked together to commit the crime.
The suspect’s mother was arrested after the incident was reported to the chief.
“We’re waiting for them to arrive at the scene after it was reported that the authorities went to the school to apprehend the suspect,” an eyewitness said.

The man who pulled the baby out of the pit toilet said that at around 1 p.m., the landlord had called and asked him to retrieve the premature baby from the pit toilet.
“The mother is said to be a form-one student. She appears to have aborted, so this cannot be an impediment to admission,” an eyewitness said.
A young mother advised students who become pregnant to avoid abortion because they can balance school and raising a child.
“I am a student with a child and still attend school. I strongly urge the authorities to pursue legal action against the suspect,” she said.
An eyewitness claimed that the suspect’s mother was aware of the pregnancy because symptoms begin to appear after 3 months.
