Dramatic scenes were witnessed at Busia police station when a murder suspect managed to trick a police officer manning the station before escaping to some unknown destination.
The suspect identified as Wilson Simiyu Situma is believed to have exploited a chance to fetch water for cleaning purposes before scaling up the wall and boarding a motorcycle which aided his escape.
It’s believed that he sustained injuries after the razor sharp fence cut through his flesh but his determination to escape saw him through.
Simiyu was set to appear before the Busia high court next week on Monday where he was scheduled to take a plea over the murder incidence.
Simiyu is accused of killing a local businessman Afred obayo.
Police constable who was manning the station revealed how he unsuccessfully tried to run after him and even shot around four bullets but failed to nail him.
The constable was also unable to identify the registration number plate for the motorcycle that aided his escape.
