Sabina Nessa, 28, left her home in south London on the night of September 17 to walk a short distance through a park and go to a bar where she was going to meet a friend. She never returned and her body was found in the park the next afternoon.

Vigils are scheduled tonight both in the region and across Britain, with participants wanting to pay tribute to Nessa but also to protest the issue of violence against women.

At the same time, the Metropolitan Police announced that they have released a 38-year-old man, who was arrested at an address in nearby Luisam yesterday, but this man remains under the microscope of the authorities and could be brought again.

Yesterday, the police released material from a security camera, showing a man and a vehicle, looking for information, while today he thanked the citizens for responding to her appeal.

“A week has passed since Sabina’s assassination and although we have made good progress in our investigation, the call for information continues and we encourage anyone with information to submit it,” said Chief Inspector Neil John.
