“TELL US WHERE IS OUR GOVERNOR” Meru residents demand.

Must read

Tension and suspense is high in MERU County on the whereabouts of Governor Kiraitu Murungi since he tested positive for covid-19.

For more than 4months now nothing has been heard of him.

His absence has not only created suspense and tension amidst Meru residents but also it is rumored that there is a lot of infighting among Kiraitu’s cabinet secretaries and other senior officers of his government.

Recent facebook posts from different people have created situation that all in not well.

South imenti mp kathuri has blamed governor Kiraitu’s administration for his woes. He requested the governor to do a reshuffle from CEC’s down the ranks.

“Not two people can tell you this my governor: H.E Governor Kiraitu Murungi for effective service delivery to us (Meru County residents), you need to do radical surgery and/or reshuffle in your administration.

Some people are just enjoying us and playing with our intelligence. From the CEC’s down the ranks.Otherwise……,” South imenti mp kathuri wrote on his facebook post.

In an interview with BaiteTv, Mugambi Kiroria stated that the people of Meru have no idea where Governor Kiraitu is because they haven’t seen him for a long time.

He pleaded with the Meru county secretary, Hon. Kariithi, and the majority leader to inform the people of the whereabouts of Governor Kiraitu.

“I am pleading with Meru county deputy governor Ntuchiu and county secretary Hon. Rufus Miriti to come out and explain where Meru county governor Kiraitu Murungi is.

The governor is rumored to be in Nairobi, Kenya, at the Karen residence, and in India.

It is critical for the people of Meru to know where the Governor is, especially at this time.

We have given the deputy Meru governor, Ntuchiu, a 14-day deadline to explain the whereabouts of the governor, failure to which we will request that the county assembly speaker swear you in.

The governor is the only person who can deal with the laws concerning Nkubu Municipality that were passed by the assembly this week.

The laws stipulated that the people of Kariene, Mwichune, Mikumbune, and Kaanguto be relocated to Nkubu because Nkubu has become a municipality.

We should stop stigmatizing Covid-19 because everyone is vulnerable, and we should also pray for our governor’s recovery, but we need to know where he is.

If the governor is not in India and government officials claim you are, and that you are seeking sympathy, this is very wrong, and God will not be pleased.

If the governor is at home and the officers claim you are in India to garner sympathy. It’s also just as bad.

If the governor is not in India, as government officials claim, seeking sympathy would be extremely wrong, and God will not be pleased.

If the governor is at home and the officers claim he is in India to also elicit sympathy. It’s just as bad.

We really have no idea where the deputy governor is because we haven’t seen him.

We implore the Meru county secretary Hon. Kariithi and the majority leader, to tell us where the governor and his deputy are,” Mugambi Kiroria told BaiteTv.

Former governor Munya and eala MP mpuru have also joined the voices asking MERU County deputy governor and County secretary to put it clear on the governor Kiraitu’s whereabouts.

“You should repair dilapidated roads and aid those who are suffering from the pandemic by providing drugs to hospitals,” Former governor Munya urged governor Kiraitu.

EALA MP Mpuru also said that the governor Kiraitu has not been seen in four months while the people of Tigania, Igembe, Karama, Mikinduri, and Igoji are suffering.

“We, the people of Meru County, voted and demand to know where our governor is because we don’t know where he is.

We did not vote only to be told later that the governor would always come. If the governor is ill, tell us; if he is well, tell us and stop telling us he is here and there.

The CEC is the lawyer on the government payroll, earning two salaries while the people of Tigania, Igembe, Karama, Mikinduri, and Igoji are in tears.

We would like to urge governor Kiraitu, to step down gradually and peacefully.

Meru county’s governor has not been seen in four months. We urge the CEC to convey to Governor Kiraitu that the people of Tigania voted for him, and he has not aided even one of them.

When you look at the Meru county government seats, you will notice that the CEC, chief of staff, security, tea cook, and drivers are all from Abogeta, and we are tired of it,” said eala MP mpuru.
