Ten dead, including 9 children, in a collision

Must read

Ten people were killed, including nine children, near Granville, Alabama, according to Butler County Medical Examiner, who linked the accident to the effects of Tropical Storm Claudette, which hit the area.

The vehicles were moving north on the I-65 motorway and the accident may have been due to the phenomenon of aquaplaning.

Eight of the ten people, all children between the ages of 4 and 17, were riding in a vehicle at the Girls Ranch in Talapuza County, an institution that hosts children who have been abused or neglected.

A father and his 9-month-old daughter, who were riding in another car, also died while being transported to a local hospital.
