Ten people were killed and 12 others injured Wednesday when a van carrying 25 migrants veered off course and overturned in southern Texas, about 150 kilometers from the US-Mexico border, local media reported.
The accident happened around 16:00, when the driver of the car lost control of a street south of the city of Falfouria, in Brooks County, according to the local television network KRIS-TV.
The car had its center of gravity high and overturned when it was found on a curb, the county sheriff said on a local news website. The driver is among the dead.
A Texas State Department of Public Safety spokeswoman said she had no information about the accident at this time.
