A spokesman for the Russian embassy spoke about the conditions under which Ashraf Ghani, who resigned as president of Afghanistan after the Taliban arrived in the Afghan capital, left Kabul.
Ghani reportedly left Kabul accompanied by cars full of money.
In fact, according to him, some of the money he transferred remained at the airport.
“Four cars were full of money, they tried to put some of the money in a helicopter, but not all of them fit. And some of the money was left in the runway of the airport, “said the representative of the Russian diplomatic mission Nikita Ishenko, in Sputnik.
The Taliban took control of Kabul on Sunday (15/08), pushing Ashraf Ghani to resign as president, as he said, he wanted to avoid further violence in the country.
