Complete shock test on the ship!
The U.S. Navy has released a video of a “full ship shock trial” on the USS Gerald R Ford – one of the largest and newest aircraft carriers in the world.
The aircraft carrier, the first of its class, was designed using advanced computer modeling methods to ensure that it could withstand combat conditions.
These tests provide useful data on its strength under such extreme conditions.
The test took place off the east coast of the country, and 40,000 pounds (18.1 tons) of explosives were used for the explosion. The US Geological Survey recorded the eruption as a 3.9 magnitude earthquake.
