Authorities in France are looking for two women after the death of a pedestrian who was hit by an electric skate in Paris.
The victim was a 31-year-old Italian woman, who was walking along the Seine in the early hours of last Monday, when she was hit by an electric skate.
According to information, the two women were moving at high speed with electric skates and did not stop.
The 31-year-old pedestrian fell, hit her head on the sidewalk and suffered a heart attack, according to the BBC. Police officers who patrolled her gave first aid and managed to restore her heart.
The woman was taken unconscious to the hospital and remained in a coma until last Wednesday, when she breathed her last.
The prosecutor opened a homicide investigation , while the Police called for eyewitnesses and examined the material from the cameras in the area.
The accident has revived the debate about electric skates in Paris, as concerns have been expressed about pedestrian safety. In 2019 the French government introduced rules for their use, after hundreds of incidents, some of which had a tragic outcome.
According to these rules, those who use electric skates must be at least 12 years old, while they are not allowed to move with them on the sidewalk.
