A young man, just 20 years old, lost his life in Italy, as he was electrocuted, doing parkour on the roof of a train. The prosecutor’s office launched an investigation.
A 20-year-old died on the roof of a train, where he was found, in the town of Merano near Bolzano in the autonomous province of Alto Adige, with the tragedy shocking Italy.
According to ERT, Max Schupfer was practicing his great passion, parkour, a sport that requires significant athletic skills for the practitioner to overcome all obstacles until he reaches a predetermined destination.
Experts investigating the incident speculate that the unfortunate Max Schupfer may have been “trainsurfing”, that is, jumping from one wagon to another, and accidentally touching the power cord with his head. His body worked as an “electric bridge” between the cables and the metal roof of the wagon, and so the young man succumbed instantly to electric shock.
The Bolzano Prosecutor ‘s Office launched an investigation to determine whether the young man was alone or with friends at the time of the accident. This is not the first time that parkour exercises have resulted in tragedy in the wider area. On July 9, 2020, a similar incident saw a 20-year-old die on the roof of a train, but this time from complications of a head injury.
