The crew of a firefighting helicopter , which crashed into a lake in Yunnan province, met a tragic end in China .
The helicopter was involved in trying to extinguish a forest fire that had broken out in a forest area and while it had gone to Lake Erhai to fill its tanks with water, it suddenly began to whirl.
It quickly lost its height and a few meters above the surface of the lake the helicopter suddenly breaks in two and is engulfed in flames before crashing.
Authorities set up a giant rescue operation involving 16 boats and 490 men after the tragedy, but unfortunately all four crew members had lost their lives. The causes of the accident are being investigated.
