Two rockets exploded in the early hours of Thursday in the Green Zone of Baghdad, where the US embassy is located, without any casualties or material damage, said a source in the Iraqi security services.
One of the rockets landed in a parking lot inside the Green Zone, while another fell on an adjacent empty space.

Baghdad’s Green Zone is home to many foreign embassies and government buildings, and is often the target of rocket fire.
This was the first attack on US interests since July 7. It came as Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Qadimi returned from the United States, where he met with US President Joe Biden, who announced the “end of the US military mission in Iraq.” However, the Democratic president did not mention the withdrawal of American troops from the country.
